Well, we had our mid-pregnancy ultrasound yesterday. It was amazing to see our little one. The very first visual we got of our Baby Bean was her foot.
While the baby was a bit uncooperative, the ultrasound technician was great. Here are some of the other shots we got of our little one.
Now for the answer to the question that is on everyone’s mind—Are we having a girl baby or a boy baby?
Looks like we are having a baby girl!!! So, we can officially begin calling our Baby Bean by her name, Annabella Marie.
After the technician finished the anatomy portion of the ultrasound, she had to check my cervical thickness. For those of you who are curious, the cervix is like a door that holds the baby in. The thicker the door, the more securely the baby will be held in.
Due to a procedure I had done in October, my cervix is a bit on the thin side. thus putting us at risk for pre-term labor. The doctors have started me on the hormone progesterone and I will have a minor surgery on Thursday called a cervical cerclage. Basically they will sew my cervix shut in essence reinforcing the door that holds the baby in.
Now the fun begins as we start preparing for the arrival of a baby girl. I think Hayden might be warming up to the idea of a baby, especially since I told him she would be a princess (he is really into The Princess and the Frog). We just have to convince Ethan that a girl baby is just as fun as a boy baby.
