Baby Bean Update

February 18th, 2010

Well, Baby Bean no longer looks like a bean. In five short weeks, the baby has developed well defined limbs, is moving like crazy, puts its hands in its mouth, and pulls on the umbilical cord.

We had a midwife appointment on Tuesday, and she couldn’t find the baby’s heartbeat using the Doppler. I don’t know if she was really trying all that hard, because she loves ultrasound technology and looking at babies in utero.

The ultrasound machine was a portable machine, so the quality of the image is not great, but we did get to spend some time watching our new little one kick and flutter about.

“I wuv you!”

One of my favorite things right now is having Hayden climb up in my lap, wrap his arms around my neck and say, “Ahhhhh, I wuv you!”

Watching My Boys Grow

January 22nd, 2010

I love playing with my children. I am so blessed to be able to stay home with them. I get to watch them grow, and there is nothing cooler than that because everyday there is something new.

This morning I was sitting on the floor playing with Hayden. We were building a Duplo tree. He was putting the “leaves” on the trees. After he got them on he said, “Good job. Let’s count. 1, 2, 3. Let’s try it again.” He then disassembled the tree and did it again.

I am just amazed by how much they learn and grow on a daily basis. And while I might be anxious to see what is new tomorrow, I will sit back and relish in what is going on today.

Introducing Baby Bean

January 13th, 2010

Just wanted to share the first pictures of our new little one-to-be with you. As you may or may not be able to tell from these images our baby bean is roughly the shape of a pinto bean, is about 1.2 cm in length, has a heartbeat of 167 beats per minute, has a gestational age of 7 weeks and 3 days, and will join our family in late August.

Merry Christmas

December 25th, 2009

From our family to yours, we wish you a merry Christmas…..

To listen to the Christmas story hop on over to http://www.thechristofchristmas.com/. Last evening at our Christmas Eve service, the pastor said something that really struck me. I am sure you have heard it said that "Jesus is the reason for the season," but really, you are the reason for the season. Jesus was sent for you and for me. God bless you this Christmas.
